Postdoctoral Research Associate, Department of English Studies, Durham University

I am Post-Doctoral Research Associate on the project ‘The Political Warfare Executive, Covert Propaganda and British Culture’, based in the Department of English Studies, Durham University and funded by the Leverhulme Trust. The project is investigating the Political Warfare Executive (PWE), a secret organisation created by Britain during the Second World War with the mission of spreading propaganda to enemy and occupied Europe.

My research explores the intersections of literature, politics and international relations, with a particular focus on culture in Ireland and Britain during the mid-twentieth century and Second World War. My book Culture, Northern Ireland, and the Second World War was published by Oxford University Press in 2015.
