Senior Lecturer, Charles Darwin University

Dr Guzyal Hill is a Senior Lecturer with a balanced academic trifecta in leadership, research (and professional legal experience) and teaching. Guzyal serves as a Deputy Chair of the Academic Board and Deputy Chair of the Academic Programs Committee. In the past, Guzyal was a founding coordinator of the Indigenous Pre-Accounting Enabling Program and coordinator of Indigenous Pre-Law Enabling Program (2021).

Guzyal previously practiced as a solicitor at commercial practice and worked as legislative drafter with the Officer of Parliamentary Counsel NT. Guzyal was a recipient of the Australian Post Graduate Award for completing her PhD candidature with Charles Darwin University and was educated at the American University in Central Asia, University of New England and Australian National University.

She researches and publishes in the areas of national uniform legislation, harmonisation in federation, federalism and ‘law as data methods’ in the context of legislation. Her book titled 'National Uniform Legislation' was published by Springer in 2022 https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-981-19-3292-2
