Associate Professor of Food Politics and Policy, The University of Melbourne

A/Prof Gyorgy Scrinis teaches and conducts research on food politics and policy in the School of Agriculture and Food at the University of Melbourne. His research has focused on the philosophy of nutrition science, nutrition policy, the health impacts of ultra-processed foods, the power of food corporations, the role of food labels, animal welfare and agricultural technologies. He is the author of Nutritionism: The Science and Politics of Dietary Advice (Columbia University Press, 2013).
