Hannah J Thompson

Professor of French and Critical Disability Studies, Royal Holloway University of London

I am a specialist in nineteenth- and twentieth-century French literature and culture and now work at the intersection of French Studies and Critical Disability Studies. I have published widely on the body, gender, sexuality and disability in nineteenth-century France and am also the author of the popular Blind Spot blog which maps my place as a partially-blind academic in a resolutely sighted world by looking at blindness in history, literature, art, film and society through my out-of-focus gaze.
