Haula Noor is a PhD candidate of Department Political and Social Change, Australian National University, Australia. received her BA in Psychology and MA in Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies under the thesis project titled “Pride within Stigma: The Case of Indonesian Terrorists’ Families”, both from State Islamic University Syarif Hidayatullah, Jakarta, Indonesia.

Currently, she works on her PhD thesis on the family context and its role in making jihadists and interviewed more than 30 jihadists' families in Indonesia in 2016.
