Programme Lead Nutrition and Health, Edge Hill University

Prior to working at Edge Hill I was a registered learning disability nurse for 15 years. I have worked at Edge Hill University since September 2002, initially as a senior lecturer in nursing. I became very interested in nutrition in 2008 and developed the Nutrition and Health programme, for which I am currently Programme lead. I completed an MSc in Nutrition in 2015.

My research to date has been within the area of nutrition in pregnancy, specifically exploring Midwives' knowledge and experience of delivering nutritional knowledge within pregnancy. I am also interested in investigating the role of nutrition within primary care as a preventative measure.
A more recent area of interest is within the subject of mental health and behaviour in children. In particular with regard to ADHD and the impact nutrition has.
