Heather L. Ramey

Assistant Professor, Child & Youth Studies, Brock University

Dr. Heather Ramey is an adjunct faculty member and holds a PhD in Lifespan Development Psychology from Brock University. Her research is focused on youth engagement and youth adult partnerships, youth well being, activity participation, and child and youth care. She is the Research Director for the Centre of Excellence for Youth Engagement at the Students Commission. As a child and youth worker and former children's therapist, she is very interested in how youth engage with youth services. Rather than seeing children and youth as only recipients of services, however, she is particularly interested how child and youth advocate for themselves and others and shape the world around them, and in how children and youth help others and make positive contributions to others, communities, and the broader world.
