Heather McLaughlin

Senior Lecturer: Creative Arts Therapies Department, DIrector: Concordia Arts in Health Centre, Concordia University

Heather McLaughlin is a board certified art therapist, registered marriage and family therapist, licensed psychotherapist, and clinical supervisor. She is a Senior Lecturer in the Creative Arts Therapies Department at Concordia University, Art Therapy Graduate Program Director and the Director of the new Concordia Arts in Health Centre. She was part of the core faculty in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at the Argyle Institute for Human Relations and spent many years working in community arts education. She maintains a private practice working with individuals, couples and families with a focus on relationships, trauma, and compassion. Ecological and social justice are her central concerns and have been a focus in all of her work.
