I am currently a Research Scientist at Arizona State University in the Global Security Initiative. I am also a part-time Senior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford in the Department of Politics and International Relations working on a project headed by Jennifer Welsh, David Rodin and Dapo Akande called the "Individualisation of War." I am also a national cybersecurity fellow at the New America Foundation in Washington, D.C.
My research interests pertain to the law, policy and ethics of emerging military technologies. I am most interested in the intersection of robotics, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity and how this particular intersection of technologies gives rise to challenges or problems associated with warfighting, civilian protection, upholding international law and morality, and the broader and more wide ranging impacts on society.
