Heike Baumüller

Senior Researcher, Center for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn

Heike Baumüller has been working as a Senior Researcher at Center for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn since 2015 where she coordinates the Program of Accompanying Research for Agriculture Innovation (www.r4ai.org). Her own research focuses on the adoption and impact of digital technologies in African food and agriculture.

Prior to joining ZEF, she was a Senior Research Fellow with the Energy, Environment and Development Programme at Chatham House in London, researching the environmental and socio-economic dimensions of trade in natural resources. Previously, Heike Baumüller coordinated the Environment and Natural Resources Programme and led the implementation of projects on fisheries and biotechnology at the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD) in Geneva.

Heike Baumüller holds a PhD in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Bonn. She also studied environmental sciences (Master) at Macquarie University, Sydney, and cognitive science (BSc) at the University of Exeter, UK.
