My research interest is in understanding how children learn to read and why some children have difficulties learning to read. I am also interested in reading acquisition across different languages and in bilingualism.

I am originally from Taiwan. I did my masters in Clinical Linguistics, which is a joint degree with three universities: Potsdam University, Germany; Groningen University, The Netherlands, University of Milan-Bicocca, Italy (2008). After that I moved to Australia and completed my PhD on reading development and dyslexia at the Department of Cognitive Science, Macquarie University. I am currently working as a lecturer in the School of Education at Macquarie University.
