I am a retired lecturer in zoology at the University of Manchester, UK, and am now an Honorary Research Associate at the Natural History Museum, London. I have worked on terrestrial planarians since 1971 when I found my first one in my garden. I have authored, either singly or with others, over 40 publications on terrestrial planarians. I have been fortunate to visit Australia, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Bermuda and Brazil in the course of this research. I have also published many papers on molluscan physiology and marine biology.
