Professor of Education and Political Economy, University of Bath

I have been a Professor of Education and Political Economy at the University of Bath since 1996.

Previously I studied at The University of London, (The Institute of Education), and gained my Doctorate at the University of Canterbury (NZ). I was formerly the Inaugural Dean of Education at Victoria University of Wellington.

I specialise in the relationship of education to the economy and have for over 10 years worked on national skill strategies and on the global skill strategies of multinational companies.

I am head of the, Globalisation, International Education, Policy and Organisation Group within the Department of Education.

I have been a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Education, London University, The University of Turku (Finland) and currently at the University of Witwatersrand (South Africa) and am also member of the ESRC Virtual College.

In 2011 I was awarded The Excellence in Doctoral Supervision by the University of Bath.
