I am a chartered research psychologist and senior lecturer in the School of Social Sciences at the University of Hull.
I have worked on a variety of research projects with most centring on the prevention of violence. My current research interests include weapon violence, domestic abuse, violence in bars and victim responses to victimisation.
My 2007 PhD from Cardiff University was called "Weapon violence: An investigation of victimisation and offending".
I have won some awards for research including the British Society of Criminology Brian Williams Journal Article Prize in 2011 and I was (a very junior) member of the Violence and Society Research Group team at Cardiff University that received the Queen's Anniversary Prize in 2009.
I teach modules on criminology and psychology including Forensic Psychology and Experimental Criminology.
