Director - Centre for Forensic Science, University of Western Australia

Ian is the Director of the Centre for Forensic Science (CFS) at the University of Western Australia (UWA) and a Registered Forensic Practitioner. He is the state's Honorary Forensic Entomologist and as an expert witness in entomology has appeared in courts in Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland and New South Wales.

He has organised a number of forensic entomology workshops for law enforcement agencies in Australia and the USA, which include the investigation of decomposition of bodies buried and on the surface.

Over the last 12 years Ian has been invited to teach the FBI Evidence Response Teams at the Human Remains Recovery School at the University of Tennessee Anthropological Centre. Ian recently became an Adjunct Professor with The Boston Medical School at Boston University.
