Innocent Dande is a post-doctoral research fellow in the International Studies Group at the University of the Free States in South Africa. His research focuses on rabies outbreaks, dog taxation and the mobility of Africans and their dogs in both Southern Rhodesia and postcolonial Zimbabwe. He graduated with a PhD in Animal History from Stellenbosch University. His major interests are in the social-environmental history of southern Africa generally and Zimbabwe in particular.
