io's research involves a multi-pronged analysis of participatory cultural creation through an Indigenous lens, with a particular focus on the creation of horizontal power relations through community-based praxis as well as the analysis of popular modes of expression as social texts. The work itself has its core in utopic visioning and the consequent practical realization of radical social alternatives.
