Dr. Irawati Harsono, MSi is a lecturer at Perguruan Tinggi Ilmu Kepolisian (Graduate School for Police Science) in Jakarta. She also lectures at Universitas Bhayangkara Jakarta.
Dr. Harsono has served in the Indonesian National Police from 1965-1995 with her last rank Police Colonel.
She is the chairperson of LBPP DERAP Warapsari, an organisation established by senior police women to work on protection of women and children who are victims of violence.
She has served as Commissioner for the National Commission Anti Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan) in 2003-2007. She is serving as commissioner for the 2014-2019 period.
Dr. Harsono received her Master's Degree on Civics Study and her doctorate on Police Science Study from the University of Indonesia.
