I have appointments with the Haskayne School of Business and the School of Public Policy's Sustainable Energy Development (SEDV) Program. I hold a CPA desination in both Canada and the United States and a PhD. My main line of research is sustainable business practices. I have worked with many different organizations through the SEDV capstone research course in which students are matched with organizations to work on research projects of the organizations' choice for approximately nine months. I teach sustainability courses and engage in research from a financial analysis and governance perspective, analyzing the overlap between the environmental and economic dimensions of sustainability. In addition, measuring and reporting performance can leads to improvements. I am well published on this topic through both academic journal and professional publications. I have authored a book on Sustainability Performance and Reporting. I am involved in a number of initiatives that are implementing sustainability projects in developing countries as well as some in my own higher education insitution. I sit on several boards of non-profit organizations whose missions are motivating and implementing sustainability actions. I have been recogngized for outstanding work both in research and teaching.
