Isiaka Oladele Oladipo

Professor of Sports and Exercise Physiology, University of Ibadan

I'm a professor of sports and exercise physiology in the Department of Human Kinetics, University of Ibadan. I currently serve as the head of the Exercise Physiology Unit in the department.

I did my undergraduate programme at the University of Benin and obtained a master's degree and doctor of philosophy in exercise physiology from the University of Ibadan. I joined the university in 2001 and became full professor in 2017.

Among the courses I teach in sports science are first aid and sports injuries, kinesiology, biomechanics, applied anatomy and physiology.

My extensive research work in the field of sport and exercise science specifically focused on the influence of physical fitness components on performance, the contribution of physical activity and therapeutic exercise to the management of health contributions and disabilities, and physiological considerations for talent identification in sports.

I have over 50 publications in the form of chapters in books and journal articles.

I'm a former elite football referee, currently Premier League football referee assessor and a FIFA physical fitness instructor. I am also a national and international consultant on nutrition and sport performance.
