Ivis García is an Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning, a Ford Fellow, and a Fellow at Hazard Reduction and Recovery Center at Texas A&M University.

Her areas of research include community engagement, planning in/with minority and low-income (primarily Latino) communities, housing and community development, displacement, mobility, accessibility, equity, demography, qualitative research methods, community planning for disaster recovery in Puerto Rico.
