Jacob Beck is York Research Chair in the Philosophy of Visual Perception and Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at York University in Toronto, Canada. He is also Coordinator of York’s Cognitive Science Program. Beck’s research makes progress on longstanding philosophical puzzles about mental representation and consciousness by reconceptualizing them in light of contemporary cognitive science. His articles have appeared in such venues as The Journal of Philosophy, Mind, Cognition, and The Atlantic. He co-edited (with Kristin Andrews) the Routledge Handbook of Philosophy of Animal Minds.
