Jamal Barnes is a Lecturer in Criminology in the School of Arts and Humanities at Edith Cowan University. His research interests focus on international human rights issues, such as torture, detention, and refugees. He is the author of 'A Genealogy of the Torture Taboo', published by Routledge in 2017.
