James Davies

I recently retired as a Professor of Economics at Western University in London, Ontario where I served since 1977. I was Chair of my department from 1992 to 2001 and Director of the Economic Policy Research Institute at Western 2001 to 2013. In 2010 I completed a five-year term as Managing Editor of Canada’s leading economic policy journal, Canadian Public Policy. I have also consulted for the federal government, international organizations and the private sector. I have authored or edited four books, and have written over 80 articles and book chapters on a wide range of topics, including economic inequality, the economics of natural disasters, public policy. Also, I have been one of the principal authors of the annual Credit Suisse Global Wealth Report since its inception in 2010.
