James F. McGrath

I am a professor at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. My BD is from the University of London and my PhD from the University of Durham, where I studied under James D. G. Dunn. My dissertation became my first book, John's Apologetic Christology, published by Cambridge University Press. In addition to early Christianity, I also research and write about the Mandaeans, as well as religion in popular culture, in particular science fiction.
