-Development practitioner and research specialist with more than 30 years of professional experience in the university education and democracy, rights and governance (DRG) sectors.
-Holder of a PhD in Historical Studies from the University of Cape Town (2001).
-Has studied and taught at the University of Zimbabwe (1988-2022), University of Cape Town (1996-2001) and Columbia University (2002-3).
-Has served as external examiner for several universities in Zimbabwe and the Southern African region, such as Great Zimbabwe University and Midlands State University (Zimbabwe); Witwatersrand University, University of Johannesburg and University of Limpopo (South Africa).
-DRG experience includes working as Research Manager for Zimbabwe Institute (2010-2014), Senior Research Specialist for Human Sciences Research Council of South Africa (2006-2009) and Knowledge Management Advisor for Pact, Zimbabwe Office (2014-2021).
-Well developed research, writing, editing and analytical skills developed through writing and editing analytical pieces of work encompassing policy briefs, context analysis reports, applied political economy reports, project evaluations, refereed books, book chapters and journal articles for the past 3 decades.
-Publication record includes the following: 2 refereed books; 22 book chapters and journal articles; and several policy briefs and research consultancy reports.
