James Tompsett

I am a PhD student in sociology studying inequality, education, and sports. I am interested in the consequences and implications of integrating sports so thoroughly within the schooling system, a practice which is unique to the United States. My dissertation investigates vulnerability in higher education in order to understand why certain groups are more likely to drop out of college. I also teach research methods in sociology each semester.
