Associate Professor of Physiology, Edinburgh Napier University

Dr Jan Gill is an Associate Professor based with the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Science at Edinburgh Napier University. With a background in Pharmacology and Physiology her present post involves both teaching and research.

Her research interests include student drinking, the evidence base for the UK health guidelines linked to alcohol consumption, female drinking, alcohol brief interventions and the tools employed to monitor alcohol consumption. Her most recent studies have been funded by the Alcohol Research UK and the Chief Scientist Office in Scotland to explore the purchasing and consumption patterns of the heaviest drinkers. She has published extensively.
