Jane Tynan is a lecturer at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.
She currently researches visual and material cultures of conflict, protest and law and order. She has published on the significance of image and clothing to the development of modern policing, its role in the contemporary workplace and particularly in the political arena. Her most recent book Uniform: Clothing and Discipline in the Modern World (2019) published by Bloomsbury, explores uniform as an embedded social practice.
