Jennifer Greenburg

Lecturer in International Relations, University of Sheffield

Dr. Jennifer Greenburg is an assistant professor of international relations at the University of Sheffield and an affiliate of the Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford University. She holds a PhD in geography from UC Berkeley and has previously held fellowships at Stanford University and the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University, where she continues to collaborate with the Costs of War Project. Her first book, At War with Women: Military Humanitarianism and Imperial Feminism in an Era of Permanent War ​(Cornell University Press, 2023), explores how post-9/11 politics of gender and development have transformed US military power. She has also conducted research in Haiti, where she studies the ongoing effects of US militarism.
