Jennifer M. Piscopo

Associate Professor of Politics, Occidental College

Jennifer M. Piscopo is Associate Professor of Politics at Occidental College. Her research on representation, gender quotas, and legislative institutions in Latin America has appeared in over 20 peer-reviewed journals and in multiple edited volumes. She is co-editor of The Impact of Gender Quotas (Oxford University Press) and consults regularly for international organizations. Her public facing writing on women and politics has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, Boston Review, Smithsonian Magazine, and Ms. Magazine, among other U.S.-based and international outlets. She received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego, where she was a Visiting Fellow at the Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies. Recently, she was the Peggy Rockefeller Visiting Scholar at the David Rockefeller Center of Latin American Studies at Harvard University.
