Dr Jess Melvin is a Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA) Fellow at the School of Philosophical and Historical Inquiry (SOPHI) at the University of Sydney (2020-2022). She was previously Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre (2018-2019); Postdoctoral Fellow in Genocide Studies and Henry Hart Rice Faculty Fellow in Southeast Asian Studies at Yale University (2016-2017); and Gilbert Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Melbourne (2015). She completed her PhD in Asian History through the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies (SHAPS) at the University of Melbourne in 2015.
