Research Fellow in Data Science and End Use Energy Demand, UCL

Jess is a Research Fellow in the UCL Energy Institute funded by the Smart Energy Research Laboratory (SERL). Her research explores domestic energy consumption and the factors that influence this.

Before her appointment, Jess was part of the London-Loughborough EPSRC Center for Doctoral Training (LoLo). Her doctoral research explored ventilation in occupied homes, focussing on measurement of ventilation rates, parameters affecting adequacy of ventilation and how technical and social factors combine to influence ventilation in homes.

Jess graduated from Durham University with a Master of Physics degree. Prior to her PhD she was a Research Scientist at the National Physical Laboratory, where she worked on quantifying and spatially mapping the emission of gases from industrial processes.
