Associate Professor and Coordinator of English, Community College of Baltimore County

Jessica Floyd is currently an Associate Professor and Coordinator of English at the Community College, Baltimore County where she teaches undergraduate Literature and Writing. She completed her Language, Literacy, and Culture PhD at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County where she investigated the erotic narratives of unexpurgated sea chanteys (sailing work songs). Her areas of interest and expertise are History of Gender and Sexuality in the Great Age of Sail (1500-1860, British and American), 17th and 18th-Century Literature, Erotic Folklore, Gender/Women's Studies, and Queer Theory.
