Associate Professor of U.S. History, University of British Columbia

I began my academic career as a member of UCLA's history department, where I earned tenure in 2000. I have been at the University of British Columbia since 2006, where I pursue a wide ranging research agenda on the politics of knowledge, state-building and U.S. political development, and international and global histories of the United States.
