Jetson Leder-Luis

Assistant Professor of Markets, Public Policy and Law, Boston University

I am an economist studying public economics, health economics and political economy. My research examines fraud, misreporting and overbilling in public expenditures, particularly in federal health insurance, as well as the consequences of these behaviors for public spending and patient health outcomes. I am also interested in the detection and deterrence of fraud and corruption, as well as the statistical properties of misreported data.

I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT (2020) and a Bachelor of Science in Applied and Computational Mathematics and Economics from Caltech (2014). In 2019-2020, I was a Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellow and a Predoctoral Fellow in Health and Aging at the NBER. My research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine.
