Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Technology Sydney

Appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) 2005. This appointment followed a long career at UNSW including a number of management positions: Head of School, Faculty of Law, Associate Dean (undergraduate) and Director of Postgraduate Programs. In 2004 Jill was elected a member of UNSW University Council and served on that until taking up her role as Dean at UTS. Jill McKeough is a highly regarded academic, researcher and writer with a special focus on intellectual property—including copyright, designs, patents, trademarks, confidential information, biotechnology and indigenous cultural heritage.

After seven years as Dean at UTS Jill is taking leave from the University in 2012-2013 to conduct the Australian Law Reform Commission reference on changes to copyright law in the context of the digital economy.
