A marketing communications expert with 20 years teaching experience across UK Universities, a champion of work based learning, employability credentials and global mobility.
A fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and a full member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) since 2008. A graduate from Manchester Business School with a PhD (2004) in consumer behaviour and consumer culture.
She has also worked extensively in marketing agency environments and managed packaging and brand identity client accounts from FMCG to wellbeing sectors, notably Argos, North Face, Danone, Bon Marche, Evian, Topshop and H&M's. Spent several years working in agencies in Manchester, Leeds, Paris, Istanbul and London before landing herself back into Academia in 2015.
Her areas of teaching expertise are: International Marketing; Strategic Marketing; Fashion and Retail Marketing; Media Planning; Campaign Planning; Branding, Consumer Behaviour, Creative advertising at both UG and PG level.
Externally, she's delivered and presented research at conferences, (British Academy of Management, Global Academic Research Institute) and her research interest areas are namely (but not limited to) consumer decision making, consumer processes, digital consumption and optimism bias. Recently her research has taken a new direction away from the commercial world, she is now interested in exploring how to improve marketing communication campaigns to change behaviours in the context of drowning prevention and is leading a research group together with the RNLI.
She studied internationally (graduate from L'EDHEC) and benefited from an ERASMUS Grant, speaks French fluently, which helps her in her current role as Global Engagement Lead.
In her spare time you can find her on the beach in Bournemouth, spending time on the water, teaching her kids to swim (safely), travel writing (she has 4 books published), scuba diving or trying to ski.
