Joceline Andersen is a film and media scholar. Her research interests include audience reception, internet culture and online viewing, and community building through moving images. Her forthcoming book, Stars and Silhouettes: The History of the Cameo Role in Hollywood, traces the development of cameos from early Hollywood to the present, and examines how audiences negotiate their place in pop culture through their powers of recognition. Her book will be available from Wayne State University Press in October 2020.
