Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town

Jody Delichte is an international development consultant. She recently completed her PhD at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business examining changes in perceptions and behaviours of bottom-of-the-pyramid entrepreneurs who are part of a livelihoods development programme.

Jody has over 25 years of experience leading global programmes in the ICT and telecoms sector for organisations such as HP, Verifone, Nortel Networks, and the GSMA, as well as co-founding and developing mobile and FinTech start-up companies. More recently, she bridged her ICT and telecoms experience with her passion for development, whereby she helped shape the Mobile for Development landscape, with emphasis on ensuring the underserved are included digitally and financially, and have access to life-enhancing value-added services in areas such as health, agriculture, utilities, and insurance. She has global experience across four continents and currently specialises in Africa, with recent projects in youth entrepreneurship, employment creation, and livelihoods development at the bottom-of-the-pyramid.
