John Chang

I am a physician-scientist and Professor of Medicine at the University of California San Diego. My laboratory is investigating fundamental immune mechanisms underlying lymphocyte fate decisions in the context of infectious diseases and inflammatory bowel disease. We have leveraged single-cell transcriptomics and proteomic profiling approaches to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying T lymphocyte differentiation and heterogeneity. We have also aimed to improve the molecular understanding of the inflammatory bowel diseases and identify new diagnostic and therapeutic targets for these diseases.
