John Drew is a PhD candidate in education at Western University. His doctoral research focuses on the role of literature, including fiction and drama, in cultivating empathy among humans and between species. John has an MA in English and taught plays for many years as part of his work over a decade as a secondary school English and social studies teacher. He’s also interested in public pedagogy and has published on how the cultural politics of how narratives influence what we care about.
