Senior Scientist in Biological Systems at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Joint Faculty Professor in Physics and Astronomy, University of Tennessee

My research combines experiment, computer simulation, and theory. This convergent approach to scientific discovery has taught me to engage effectively with a broad range of research disciplines and diverse points of view. As a result of my extensive professional experience managing interdisciplinary research and my own scientific evolution over the past three decades, I have honed my intuition for identifying exceptional people, ideas, and opportunities, and an enthusiasm for bringing them productively together.

Over the years, I have also mentored and managed scientists at all levels of professional experience to help them reach their full potential and achieve desirable outcomes for both individuals, their collaborative teams, and their institutions.
