Dr John Read has a PhD in Ecosystem Management. He lives and works in the Australian arid zone and has a particular interest in applied ecology, including the control of feral predators and managing threatened species and threatening processed. John has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles and four books and is an editor of the Ecological Management and Restoration Journal

John is chair of the Warru Recovery Team, director of Ecological Horizons environmental consultancy.(www.ecologicalhorizons.com), Thylation conservation innovation companies (www.thylation.com), Wild Deserts, and Patron and Board member of Tetepare Descendants' Association (www.tetepare.org) in the Solomon Islands
