Wolfson Chair of Bioengineering (Biomedical Engineering), University of Glasgow

Professor Cooper is Emeritus Vice Principal and holds The Wolfson Chair of Bioengineering at the University of Glasgow. He has interests in medical imaging, medical diagnostics and medical devices. He has worked extensively in Eastern Africa on infectious diseases diagnostics in rural communities in Rwanda, Uganda, Malawi and Tanzania.

He sits on the Centre’s International Advisory Board Chinese Academy of Sciences Innovation & Cooperation Centre and is a Visiting Professor at University of Oxford and OSCAR, Suzhou, China as well as a Visiting Professor, School of Medical Science and Technology, IIT Kharagpur, India. He has been elected as a Fellow of the UK’s National Engineering Academy, The Royal Academy of Engineering and of the Scotland’s National Academy, The Royal Society of Edinburgh.
