Jonathan James is a PhD candidate in the Department of Education, Practice and Society at the UCL Institute of Education. His research examines the impact of Islamist terrorism on education policy and practice. Before beginning the PhD in 2017, Jonathan spent 12 years as a teacher in schools in England and France, where he taught English, French, and citizenship education and undertook various leadership roles. He currently works part time as an external consultant in the OECD Directorate of Education and Skills.
