Jordi Lleonart, fisheries biologist and PhD in Biology (University of Barcelona), is currently a Researcher of CSIC (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas) at ICM (Institut de Ciències del Mar), Barcelona.

His research areas are: Numerical methods and multivariate statistics in ecological research. Fisheries in general; Mediterranean fisheries; Hake fisheries; Population dynamics of exploited marine resources; Stock assessment, Modelling including bio-economic fisheries modeling; Computational statistics and simulation.

He was Editor-in-Chief of Scientia Marina (1986-1991) and FAO Senior Fishery Resources Officer from 2002 to 2008.
