Dr Josie Vine is an academic in the RMIT Journalism Program.
After several years working on country newspapers and local radio, she moved into journalism academia with the Journalism program at Deakin University.
She has worked at RMIT since 2006, where she lectures in the first-year areas of newswriting, the sociology of news and journalism ethics and regulation.
Josie also supervises honours, MA and PhD students, as well as examines dissertations.
Her research interests include the history and culture of Australian journalism, and the sociology of newsrooms.
