Dr Joshua Black is a political historian based at the Australian National University in Canberra. His PhD thesis, entitled 'Bleeding Off the Page: A Cultural History of the Political Memoir in Australia', was completed in March 2023. Josh teachers political, economic and cultural history at the ANU and elsewhere, and has written and published widely on the history of Australian public culture. In 2021, he edited a special issue of the Australian Journal of Biography and History with Dr Stephen Wilks.
Josh is the Administrative Officer of the Australian Historical Association, and a Palace Letters Fellow at the Whitlam Institute at Western Sydney University.
