Dr. Edeh is a physician and epidemiologist in training with a deep commitment to addressing health and social inequalities in vulnerable populations. Her research interests include maternal and child health, chronic disease epidemiology, social determinants of health, and health equity. She has actively contributed to maternal and child health initiatives as a member of the Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response Committee (MPDSR) while serving as a trained physician in Nigeria. She collaborated with trained experts in the field of maternal and child health, as well as community stakeholders, to reduce maternal and infant mortality and morbidity in resource-poor settings and improve access to healthcare services among marginalized, underserved, and vulnerable populations.
She is currently a Graduate Research Assistant with the Center for Disabilities and Development, Stead Family Department of Pediatrics, University of Iowa Health Care (UIHC), where she conducts research on autism. In addition to her work in maternal and child health, Dr. Edeh is passionate about HIV prevention. She is committed to developing and implementing strategies that address the unique challenges faced by vulnerable communities in preventing and managing HIV, aiming to reduce the incidence of HIV and improve health outcomes for those affected.
